A: Central Advocates, engages and educates alumni, parents, students, and community members about the value of Central Washington University and higher education. We share updates about current bills and proposals, keep you informed and engaged regarding CWU priorities. We’ll also send urgent action updates for our advocates to send messages to their lawmakers in support of higher education and CWU.

Q: If I no longer live in Washington, should I still join?
A: Absolutely! Many of us move away from Ellensburg after graduation, but our degree from Central is a lifetime investment and protecting that investment is critical. Whether you live in Washington State or the other Washington D.C. we can help connect you with elected officials who will listen to your thoughts regarding CWU priorities.
Q: Does Central Advocates deal with state government or federal government issues?
A: Most of our work focuses on state reinvestment in higher education and issues affecting Central Washington University at the state level. These issues generally have the most direct and immediate impact on our public university. At the same time, the federal government has a strong impact on CWU programs and federal financial aid. Therefore, we engage elected officials at all levels of government.
Q: I am an employee of Central. May I still use Central Advocate resources?
A: You may only use Central Advocate resources during non-work hours, on your personal computer or mobile device, and using your personal email address.
